Would you have like to have seen worked into DS9, say 3 episode arc in some type of ambassadorial role

if they could've pulled it off, yeah! i loved seeing spock in TNG, but the episode wasn't exactly the greatest. :-\

Dunno how they would have worked it. Given where they left Spock off at, they would have either had to deal with the Romulan-Vulcan reunification issue (which would have been odd for the DS9 crew to be involved with) or they could sidestep it completely (which could have irritated fans who, mostly, responded well to that storyline).

I suppose it would have depended all on the story.

I wouldn't have liked it too much honestly. I think that it would have detracted from DS9 and may of come across as a gimick. The only thing I could truly see him working well in is ITPM as maybe helping to bring Romulus into the war or if they had gone with the original script for Homefront/Paradise Lost where Vulcan left the Federation.

If they wanted to bring back a TOS Enterprise member I would prefer if it wasn't Spock. I'd be more interested in seeing someone else like Sulu, Uhura or Chekov, someone who hasn't reappeared in the TNG era.

As much as I like both DS9 and Spock, it has never occured to me to mix the two. Some of their other crossover characters didn't pull it off so well, and the show did its best when it really launched into its own story arc that was unrelated to other Star Treks.

Not if it was handled as poorly as 'Unification', which was two hours of pure missed opportunity. Well, one hour, I guess, because he showed up at the end of part one.

Err.... Spock WAS in DS9, wasn't he?
Dax was checking him out instead of Kirk in TAT.

Ok, that scene wasn't really relevant to the story, but don't say he never appeared on the show.

A really old Chekov perhaps. Literally a 'just passing through' blink and you'll miss it cameo. Another TOS era member turning up via time-travel/technobabble would've been a bit too much.

Kirk? :cardie: :rommie:

I can see the Shat tearing up the Ops set now!

I think Uhura would have been a cool choice, maybe for "Far Beyond the Stars". Not because she is black per se, but because that kind of story I think appeals to her. It was some damn good sci-fi, one of DS9's best, though a little heavy-handed in Sisko's final scene.

Spock would have been interesting to see during the Dominion War, working to bring the Romulans into the war on the side of the Federation/Klingon alliance.

I seem to recall that there was going to be an off-hand reference to Spock's death in a late episode, but it was decided that killing a character like Spock off-screen like that wasn't appropriate.

As for other characters visiting the station, there were rumors that Scotty was going to appear on the series in the second season for a multi-episode arc. I don't know if that were just wishful thinking or if there were genuine plans. I'd have loved it had it happened. I could so see Scotty becoming a barfly at Quark's. :)

I remember being convinced that had happened. I even remember the visual of him coming through the airlock with his bags.

yeah, that would've been a little... ... .... i mean, even sarek, who wasn't all that major of a character got to die on screen...

Not quite. He was dyin' when Picard went to see him befor headin' for Romulas, but was still alive at the end of the scene.

En route to Romulan territory, the Klingon captain passed word to Picard that Sarek had died.

:vulcan:

My favourite Trek character on my favourite Trek series... it certainly is a tempting idea. :vulcan:

Spock was in every episode of DS9. People say they can see his face in the comet dust, but I've never seen it.

I vaguely remember reading rumours the writers had approached Nimoy about appearing in a mirror universe episode but he had turned them down.
