As soon as I finished Countdown I wanted More Trek Comics of this quality, preferably in this timeline. I am nervous of comics because they are so pricey here and potentially there are so many of them..

This looks great! My questions:

How often do you think comic that is a part of a miniseries will come out? Monthly?

Is there any guarantee it will be made into a trade paperback? Is there a "normal" timetable as to how long it takes a trade paperback to appear after the finishing of a comic series?

IDW is going to shoot for a monthly release schedule on this.

IDW's business model is to reprint everything in trade.

For IDW, it's usually about two months after the final issue of the mini-series.

I said usually. There are exceptions, like Countdown and other movie comics, where the trade paperback hits nearly simultaneous with the final issue.

All of your questions have the same answer: Depends.

Usually, comics, in an ongoing or miniseries, come out on a monthly basis. Sometimes they might come out bi-monthly. Judging by the other comics by IDW, this one should come out monthly.

Many times, TPBs are almost a certainty, but it is never 100%. Sometimes, companies will announce if it'll turn into a TPB if it is a mini-series. IDW did so with Countdown. If they plan to trade it up, I suspect they'll announce it with S:R.

The timetable depends on what they want. It can come out right away, or it can be a year from the last issue.

Best bet is to check their website. Also, TrekMovie usually keeps tabs on these things too.

Yep. So far the only significant delay is John Byrne's first Romulan mini-series. He's been commissioned to do a second mini-series so they can be collected together when his second Romulan storyline is finished.

All of IDW's Trek miniseries have been scheduled to come out monthly. Whether they actually come out monthly depends on the writer, artists and editor, though I will say that the Tiptons and David Messina are some of the most dead-on reliable creators an editor could hope to work with. Nobody's perfect, of course, but if a Tipton-Messina book ever comes out late, it's probably not because of them.

IDW also reissues almost every miniseries as a collection, and has done so with every Trek series to date. They usually appear 2-3 months after the final issue, though as has been noted that sometimes changes slightly because of the scheduling of a tie-in movie, holiday season, a major convention or some similar quirk in the scheduling.

My guess for Spock: Reflections, though, is that you're also going to see it released on the iPhone, so you'll be able to check it out even if it's difficult or expensive to track down the individual issues.

That's assuming one has an iPhone. I wasn't aware those things had become anywhere near ubiquitous yet.

^iPhones are everywhere it seems. Even soccer moms are playing with them while they're driving their SUV's
