Spin off topic, anyone you wouldn't save their life if you could.

ed629

Rear Admiral
I can think of only, I call him fat fuck, because the world is better off without him and for what he's to me and other people and at times enjoys it.

I don't think this will end well, but I can tell you that yes, there are certain people that I wouldn't raise a finger to save.

I would have to at least make an honest attempt at saving someone's life. It's not in my nature to let someone simply die in a situation where I can make a difference.

I wouldn't try and save anybody's life because frankly I am kind of a physical spaz and there is a very good chance I'd just make the situation worse.

I don’t think we’re necessarily talking about taking direct physical action to save someone’s life — just doing whatever you’re capable of at the moment. I mean, everybody these days has a cellphone and knows how to call 911, right?

As for me, I can think of a few people I wouldn’t bother to piss on if they were on fire. More than a few, actually.

There are people I really don't care for but, still, I think I'd try to do something.

Assuming we are not talking about a situation where there is risk to myself, I would do whatever I could for whoever required it.

I can't even imagine the kind of hatred you'd have to carry inside you to stand back and watch somebody die when you could have done something about it. That's not much better than killing them yourself IMO.

The only answers that spring to mind have to do with public figures and my Leftish politics, so yeah...this won't end well if we go there.

Unless they're Ra's al Ghul. Then the distinction matters for some reason.

(Bruce's weak rationalization doesn't even really work considering he's the one who told Gordon to blow up the monorail track, directly resulting in Ra's' death).

Sorry for the Batman deviation, but I don't wish death on anyone, so it's hard for me to address the OP's question. There are people I'm not particularly sorry to see go, but if I had the chance to save someone's life even if I found them repulsive, I would probably take it.

Fred "God Hates Fags" Phelps. I would lay down in front of the paramedic van if it would stop them from getting to him in time. He is the embodiment of Satan on earth, and I don't accept either Satan or hell.

This.

Really, I can't see why you wouldn't save anybody's life if it doesn't put your own life in danger.

Tell you what, i'm quite curious as to what "fat fuck" has done that would warrant ed629 standing by and watching as he dies.

Perhaps we can get an example. What's the worst thing he has done to you? I am assuming it must be pretty fucking serious, the sort of thing you could be jailed for.

+1.

I suppose I would be tempted to let people like war criminals who committed great atrocities on tens of thousand of people die (OBL, for example...or Hitler, or someone just that evil)...but even then I might regard it as a character flaw on my part....because it would mean an acquiescence to their own brand of hatred....

It would be absolutely incredible if a gay man saved his life. Not only would he owe a gay man his life, but he'd probably be cast out of his own disgusting organisation.

From my personal point of view, If I had the opportunity to save anyones life, regardless of who they were, I would do it, because quite frankly I'd feel worse that I didn't try. The person in question could be one evil motherfucker, but by not doing anything and letting them die, I'd be no better than them.

There are any number of people I can think of who have done some pretty terrible things to me, people I love, and/or random passers by, and yes, if a large rock were lumbering their way with intent to squish, I'd go make pop corn.

I can't imagine letting anyone die if I had the ability to save them. What a horrible thought!

I can't think of any real people that I wouldn't want to save, but certain fictional ones come to mind. :)
