Just for the record I enjoyed ASM2 a lot more than 1. And Garfield is great in this one.
The only problem I have is that it seemed one point of rebooting this franchise was to make Peter Parker a bit younger, more of a high school kid. And yet Andrew Garfield is already 30 now... Tobey Maguire is still only 38 now.

Garfield can just about pull off playing a 18 year old kid, but long term they aren't gonna get much far past No.4 before Garfield gets too old for it (and he's already said he doesn't wanna be playing Spider-Man post 40)

So if he was perfect for the role fair enough, but it might have made more sense to have an actual young actor playing a young role

Spectacular Spider-Man starts with Peter finally settling in to being a superhero, having been bitten "a few months" before.

And then did a flashback for the origin story in the next in episode 12.
You're right, I had forgotten about that. Although I'm not sure if five minutes of nightmare-infused flashback counts as "doing the origin". Regardless...good point.
