Speculate on Where Tim Tebow Is Going

Knight Templar

Commodore
Now that Peyton Manning and his five year 90 million dollar contract is landing in Denver, anyone want to place bets as to where QB Tim Tebow will end up? I read on the MSN page that even if Tebow wants to stay in Denver, the Broncos management will not want him because they don't want his huge salary just to backup Manning and they want no hint of a QB controversy.

They want Manning to come in, be in charge from day one, and get them a Super Bowl before his body wears out.

I'm betting that he ends up in Tennessee. Hasselback isn't their answer and they need someone else and I'm betting that Bud Adams will take a chance with Tebow.
The thing about him staying in Denver is that management doesn't want to put up with the crap that came along with the massive fan push to play Tebow over Orton. I can see it now everytime Manning loses a game they'll be screaming to play Timmy, and neither Fox nor Elway want to put up with that again.
I had to pass that stupid billboard to John Fox everyday on the way to work and that was the height of stupidity.

A couple weeks ago, when Denver was mentioned as a possible landing point for Manning, the stories all had Denver automatically cutting/trading Tebow.

Now I realize Tebow requires a fairly different offensive scheme, but if they get rid of Tebow and Manning gets hurt, they only really have Quinn left as backup, right?

Is it smart to get rid of Tebow at this point? And what would be the point? Overall, they still know how to run an offense Tebow can handle.

Brady Quinn is a free agent and probably feels resentful toward Denver... and just signed with Kansas City. They'd probably have to sign someone like Matt Leinart, A.J. Feeley, Byron Leftwich or David Carr as a serviceable (tolerable?) veteran backup and draft someone to be a project to replace Manning.

Was that the billboard that called for fans to vote for Tebow or Manning? And Tebow won with 59% of the vote? Interesting. I'm hoping that Tebow lands with the Cardinals. 'zona hasn't been the same since Kurt Warner retired IMHO.

Hell fuck no! Hasselbeck with a missing right arm is a better QB than Tebow and Jake Locker is already five times the quarterback St. Timmy is.

I disagree. I think Tim Tebow is a winner and will only get steadily better with time. One of his assets is he knows how to get along with veteran players and work with them.

Tebow is a bad quarterback that somehow found ways to win games. However, I don't think it was entirely a fluke. I do think he'll have a future in the league. I think the PR for Tennessee would be absolutely awful, however, if they go with Tebow as their runnerup for Manning. Since they drafted Locker, they are better off arguing he's their QB of the future.

I'm sure there are a couple of mediocre teams in need of a QB who could probably make use of him, though.

Buffalo

I doubt there are any teams that will hand Tebow the starting QB job on a platter. But there will presumably be a couple of teams whose QB situation is such that they'd be willing to let Tebow compete for the starting job.....or at least put him in as a backup now, with the likelihood of competing for the starting job in a year's time or so.

Buffalo only went 1-8 in their final 9 games of the season last year, so they should be desperate to try something to turn things around, yet they haven't nabbed a QB in free agency. So why not bring in Tebow as competition for Fitzpatrick?

What other teams are in this situation? Cleveland? I guess if they think Tannehill is amazing enough to be drafted #4 overall, they can go with him. Otherwise, might they end up in the Tebow sweepstakes as well?

The biggest on-the-field issue with Tebow is you have to have one offense for him, and one offense for the other two QBs.

The biggest off-the-field issue which is apparently one of the biggest annoyances the Denver front office is hoping to rid themselves of is the "noise" -- extremely vocal people that don't know anything about football who are ranting and raving for him to start for non-football reasons.

1. Jaguars - the worst franchise in the NFL. They can jack up ticket prices and sell a bazillion jerseys

2. Dolphins - pretty much the same except they're not all that bad

He should just move to running back. That could give Denver one hell of an unpredictable offense.

Except that Manning calls the shots of any offense he runs and he has never been that running back dependent has he?

Didn't the Colts get to the Super Bowl one year with the worst or near worst running game in the league?

The Denver Broncos are expected to trade quarterback Tim Tebow to either the New York Jets or Jacksonville Jaguars by midday Wednesday, Orlando's WKMG-TV reported, citing a source close to the NFL star.

The Denver Broncos reportedly are looking to part ways with the unconventional quarterback, having signed four-time MVP Peyton Manning.

The report says that while the Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins also were believed to be interested in acquiring Tebow, the trade talks are exclusively down to the Jets and Jaguars.

Tebow was expected to be dealt for a third-round pick.

The Jets are still in it? They do use a wildcat that he could fit into, though he might undermine Sanchez even more. But I heard they were a "longshot" even before the Manning press conference.

My how fast things can turn.
