Space Seed, TWOK and TUC

Ever noticed how Space Seed, TWOK and TUC form a great series of adventured tied into each other? The scene in TUC, when Kirk orders one quarter impulse power in Spacedock is a direct answer to the scene in TWOK when Spock let Saavik maneuver out of Spacedock at a quarter impulse power.

And on my last viewing of Space Seed, I realized what a great homage there is in TUC: the scene where Khan, Kirk, Spock & Crew have dinner together, and Spock attacks Khan for being a tyrant while Kirk tries to save the situation, and then the scene in TUC when the Klingons and the Enterprise crew have dinner, and Kirk's and Spock's roles are reversed. This time Kirk is the offender and Spock tries to save the situation. I thought that was a great thing, and nice attention to detail which kinda closes a loop.

A quick search on the boards didn't bring it up, so I just wanted to share that.

Meyer is really good at these little details which 90% of the viewing audience never seems to pick up, and he never explains. I think it's a bit of his literary nature sneaking in.
