An offhand mention by Scotty of a "giant green space hand" in Star Trek Beyond got me thinking about what legends might exist in Trek's world about some of the weird things that exist there. Another example is the "great bird of the galaxy" which turned out to be a real thing in the New Frontier novels. These space legends may not be 100% true, as we saw in early Next Generation the Ferengi were rumoured to be cannibals. There was also "Cyrus Ramsey" the transporter ghost from Enterprise's era (although this one may have been an hallucination), as well as a few legends about the Delphic Expanse. The fable (according to Spock) that God is real and lives on a planet in the centre of the galaxy from STV would definitely count too.
I thought it'd be fun imagining what space legends might exist in Trek's world.
I like to think every now and then there's a sighting of a 25-foot tall Spock clone somewhere in the galaxy, but no-one takes it seriously (TAS: "The Infinite Vulcan")
