Space Burial Survey

Hi folks,

Long time reader, first time poster! I am putting together a business plan for a company which uses the Cubesats too utilize the untapped economic potential that Space holds. We want to be a Space Applications or Space 'Apps' company. There are many possible ideas floating about at the moment, Space Advertising, Earth Observation, Scientific Research, Zero G R+D, Space Burial etc.

The most economically viable App at this moment in time appears to be Space Burial or Memorial Spaceflight. I have compiled a survey and it would be great if you could fill it complete it. It only takes about 1 minute.

Any Questions, fire them my way!

Depends obviously on the launcher which you are using, the orbit you are going into but most cubesat's don't stay in LEO for a very long time due to the atmosphere acting as a giant vacuum cleaner :)

I also think it is important to build economic reasons to go into space. If you have no satellites to fly then there will be no incentive to build cheaper/more efficient rockets. If there is no economic incentive to leave Earth then the whole Star Trek vision will remain just a vision.

Survey taken. Very interesting. Gene Roddenberry's ashes went into space, so why not some of the fans of his show?

I always wanted to be "buried" in space. I wanted to be vacuum sealed into a titanium casket and launched into space.

How did you know about my "little problem?"

.

Uh... nope. Not going there.

As for the topic... I'd do a space burial if I was single. Or if my partner wanted to as well and we somehow managed to die together and could drift through space together, eternally. So it would have to be full body, full casket. Not just a portion of ashes.

And that would be shot into deep space. Burning up on re-entry or just floating in LEO doesn't do it for me. Even though I'd be dead and (hopefully) wouldn't know or care.

My worry about space burial is that my body will be grave-robbed by five-faced aliens, and used to remotely attack my former friends, forcing me to spectacularly sacrifice my life for a second time...

... I mean, that just sounds like hard work...
