Track number 9 is interesting!

And not to go all paranoid and perhaps open a small can of worms...but does "New Car Smell" mean new Enterprise? (as in they may get one that looks more like the original)

I do love the names, and can't help wondering what they really mean!

As to the McFly comment
could it be Scotty going through the drainage pipes in engineering?

Those are some bad titles.

"Nailin' the Kelvin" - I guess Captain Robau must really love his ship.
"Nero Death Experience" - No, that's not a spoiler. Not at all.
"Nero Fiddles, Narada Burns" - Horrible pun. Unless this is actually another spoiler. Does Nero really play the fiddle while his Space Octopus burns?

Anyway, when does this soundtrack get released? I may want to check it out. Or I may not. But regardless, when is the release date?

Any idea what the asterisks next to the last two titles indicate? I don't see anything in the TrekMovie article.

Edit:

Aha. Note #128 in the comments says that those indicate inclusion of material from Alexander Courage's theme for the original series and gives a link to the Varese Saraband page for the soundtrack, where you can look at an image of the back cover:

These are definitely the real track titles.

Edit, again:

I wonder if "Hella Bar Talk" sounds anything like music by Béla Bartók. That would be too cool (but somehow doesn't seem likely.)

What? Where are the spoilery titles like Qui-Gon's Funeral or Kirk's Death????

16. Sulu's Ultimate Sacrifice
17. The Death of Spock
18. Picard, Data, Geordi and Worf Like Time Traveling Too

Wow, turns out the 'leaked' tracklisting of a few weeks ago wasn't legit at all. However, this looks good. :techman:

Yeah, some of the tracks have idiotic titles. But I don't buy or listen to soundtracks because of what each cut is named. If the composer cranks out incredible music I usually forget or don't care what the selection is named anyways.

Anyone else notice that the TNG title font is used extensively? Nice little wink to the fans, I think.

I do love the names, and can't help wondering what they really mean!

Movie and TV soundtracks often contain tunes with jokey names, since they are never used by radio announcers, etc.

For example, "The Cage" has a track called "Max's Factor", presumably a joke aimed at the supplier of the theatrical greasepaint makeup used on Vina and Spock?

The scene of frozen people in "The Naked Time" (TOS) is called "Brass Monkeys". The death of Commodore Decker in "The Doomsday Machine" is called "Goodbye Mr Decker".

It should be noted that Soundtrack listing order rarely ever corresponds to the order in the film itself.

9. "McFly" might be a Back to the Future reference. Time Ship?
13. Is probably earlier in the film. Perhaps to the Enterprise itself.
