Sopio Cards

I refused to play it for years because I thought it looked stupid, but I finally tried it last night. It's such an awesome game! Seriously, if you've been holding out on the craze (like me!) give it a shot.

What's your favorite card? Mine's currently the Time Travelling Tortoise, followed by Tiny Saurs.

Man With A Giant Head is awesomeness personified, in card form. :D

Although the purist within me still prefers the joy of playing card games on motorcycles.

Oh wow, someone else who has played

At first, I was really hesitant, but it's not at all what I expected. Sopio is really a different kind of game. Too bad it's not easy finding people who know how to play.

As far as favorite card, Tiny saurs is great, but nothing can beat the diversity of Junkyard Dave. Obviously it doesn't win games, but, for common card, it's really underrated. I've been rethinking my strategies recently, so maybe I'll end up with a new favorite card soon, but that's my basic thoughts. Wow, can't believe someone else knows this game.

Try applying Party Mode to that and you'll start winning more games soon. :)

Ooh, that's a good idea. Hadn't thought of that.

I'm still highly frustrated by the You Rock! card, though. I've been trying to develop a counter to that (IMHO) game-breaking strategy for ages, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Well what is interesting about that card was that it was originally developed to counter the Tiny-saurus card, but you can actually use the Tiny-saurus card to retaliate as long as you have a Bedknobs and Boomsticks card in your San.

Hmm, interesting combination. I heard there was a cool trick you could pull with Deaf Ray, for like +750 if you do it right, but I forget what the key other cards were.

I love this game, but I don't seem to be all that good at it.....usually I'm still at 400-500 points when the winner reaches 1000.....

I remember seeing a game where someone used Deaf Ray together with Sunflower Man to subtract 350 from all the other players. A heated argument broke out among the players over whether that move was legal or not - it was quite amusing.

You Rock! is definitely a tricky card to defend. My strategy is to play something like Terror Wrists that can reverse all that person's point totals. Suddenly You Rock! becomes a huge liability.

Mr. Holdfast, sir, are you implying that Sopio is not a real game? Because that's a completely ludicrous thing to claim about something that won the 2008 Real Card Game award.

Yeah. Between it and Yes, (Prime) Minister, I learnt everything I needed to know about life.

Oh, naturally, I stand corrected and in awe of the evidence! :D

Interesting. I might try that next time I get the chance. Thanks, mimic. :)
