songs you'd attribute to characters?

Kinda warped as far as word association goes, but given the characters from TOS, what song(s) first come into your mind to describe any aspect(s) of them?

Here are my picks:

Kirk - "Ultraviolet" - The B-52s (or "Love in the Year 3000")
Spock -"Numbers" - Kraftwerk (or "Pocket Calculator")
McCoy - "Broken Bones" - Jesus Jones
Scotty - "Weird Science" - Oingo Boingo (or "Tubthumper" by Chumbawumba)
Uhura - "Communicate" - The B-52s
Chekov - "Unbelievable" - EMF
Sulu - "Maximum Overdrive" - 2 Unlimited (or "Workaholic")
(that angry bloke who's always looking at the camera in the background) - "Karma Chameleon" - Boy George

I don't know where I saw this, or did I dream it, but I think somebody a while back created a kind of animated montage of the best scenes from "Amok Time" -- and set it to the song "Bad Blood" by Neil Sedaka and Elton John. Maybe it was posted on this board and that's where I got it from. I'd like to know.

Ever since then, I can't hear the song without picturing Kirk and Spock going through that episode, and Spock getting played by T'Pring. The lyric is perfect for it. Obviously Kirk is the narrator. I've bolded the especially pertinent lines (pasted from Google):

It coulda been me but it was you
Who went and bit off a little bit more than he could chew
You said that you had it made, but you been had
The woman no good, no how
, thinkin' maybe the blood is bad

Bad (ba-a-ad) blood (blo-o-od)
The woman was born to lie
Makes promises she can't keep

With the wink on an eye

Bad (ba-a-ad) blood (blo-o-od)
Brother, you've been deceived
It's bound to change your mind

About all you believe

From where I stand, it looks mighty strange
How
you let a woman like that treat you like small change
I don't understand what you're lookin' to find
The only thing bad blood do is mess up a good man's mind

Hear me talkin' now

Bad (ba-a-ad) blood (blo-o-od)
The bitch is in her smile
The lie is on her lips
Such an evil child

Lt. Hadley - "The Quiet One" - The Who. ("Everybody calls me the Quiet One, you can see but you can't hear me!")

Janice Rand - "Legs" - ZZ Top. ("She's got legs, she knows how to use them" - except for "Miri" when they have ugly blueish blemishes on them.

Dr. Miranda Jones - "Love Is Blindness" - U2.

Larry Marvick - "Crazy on You" and "Crazy" - Heart and Gnarls Barkley.

Adam - "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding - Elvis Costello & The Attractions.

Mr. Hengist / Ripper entity - "Killer on the Rampage" - Eddy Grant.

Dr. Sevrin, Adam, Tongo Rad, Irina Galliunin & girls - Groove Is In The Heart - Deee-Lite.

I haven't seen that but it sounds great. It makes me think of the YouTube video of Star Trek III footage with Kirk and Kruge fighting. When Kruge screams "Give me Genesis" in pops "Land of Confusion" by the Phil Collins led band of that name.

Now when I hear "Land of Confusion" I think of Kirk and Kruge.

Susan Sackett's Letters to Star Trek had a letter by a Trek artist. Whenever she would be painting a character, the radio would play strangely appropriate songs (e.g. "Don't Mess Around with Jim" for Kirk, "Chapel of Love" for Chapel, and "Son of a Preacher Man' for McCoy/Kelly).

Years ago, Creation Conventions did music video presentations at conventions. They were basically edits of character greatest hit moments to popular music. When I was a kid, I remember attending conventions and seeing several of them. Here are the ones I recall:

Kirk: Rod Stewart "Forever Young"
Spock: U2 "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
Troi: The Police "Everything She Does Is Magic"

I can't remember the other ones....this was mid-90's.

This will probably get some groans, but....

Supertramp, The Logical Song - Spock

Alice In Chains, Man in the Box - Kollos

Led Zepplin, The Rover- Kirk or
Kansas, Point of Know Return or
Grand Funk Railroad, I'm Your Captain

Bob Seger, Like a Rock - Scotty

Styx, Born for Adventure - Sulu

Journey, Escape- Dr. Simon VanGelder

Blue Oyster Cult, Career of Evil- Harry Mudd

Heh, I was about to post about the Creation videos, unfortunately, I don't remember any of the other ones either. "Forever Young" still makes me think of Captain Kirk whenever I hear it, so I'd say that one was particularly inspired.

I think one was "Mr. Roboto" for Data, but he's not TOS.

T'Pau - T'Pau - China in Your hand.

Khan - I want it all - Queen.

Chekov - Moskau by the German Band Dschingis Khan (pun intended)
