Sometimes more active here, sometimes not?

Are there periods of time when you're not very active, if at all active, on this forum?
Then at some point you visit the forum at least once a day, perhaps more often?

I started to think about this after I visited the forum yesterday and stayed for a while, posted something and thought that I haven't been here much lately. Some people here may be sad that I "returned", but who knows for how long.

I'm on here when I'm at work (Tuesday - Friday, night shift), but rarely if ever on the weekend. Likewise, I was on a comic book forum once that I fell out of because work computers started randomly blocking it after a security update.

Sometimes I'm absent for weeks or even months at a time, yet people in certain areas of the board expect me to know exactly who said what, where, and when during all that time. The 'net is a big place, and this forum isn't one of my everyday hangouts (I reserve that for gaming forums).

That said, there are times of the year when I'm here often, if one of my favorite shows' current season is on TV.

I'm coming up on my 18th anniversary of being a member of this board, and was a lurker for a couple of years before that. As life gets busy, I can go months without checking in. Then, when things slow down, or I run into something that I need to check out, I come back.

I lurk mostly, but I try to have a look at some of the topics every other day and if I have something to contribute (not very often since I'm not really very interested in the current Trek shows), I do so. I have an entire Trek board to look after as an admin tho, so that one gets more of my attention.

I've been here since 2001, but I have been spending less time here lately. I don't watch the current Star Trek shows and I watch very little tv in general because it is very boring on the whole, so there isn't as much to talk about. Years ago, we'd talk about shows like Lost as they were playing. Also, since I retired, I'm busy doing lots of other stuff.
