It was when Christopher Pike was dying and Spock, instead of trying to comfort him or help him, decided to use that opportunity to conduct a mind meld on Pike simply to feel what Pike was feeling as he was dying. That was a really tasteless and cold thing for Spock to do! Now if he had done a mind meld to ease Pike's fear and pain so he didn't have to suffer while dying, that would've been fine! But nope, Spock didn't even do that for Pike.
