Well as we've seen Garak and Bashir have a interesting lunch.

I wonder what would you set the topic about?

Either something for Garak, which you know will probably be a lie itself if you can catch onto it. Or Something Medical for Dr. Bashir [but then again that's one thing you don't want to talk about while you're eating on the replimat or in Quarks]

I've always wanted to sit in on one of their lunchtime debates....

if it were me I'd simply ask Garak about Cardassian Entertainment and if he can recommend me some good Cardassian books to read.

If I were to ask Dr. Bashir, I'd ask him about his Genetic Enginnering and what he thought about Khan and the Eugenics war....that'd might make for an interesting lunch discussion right there.

With Bashir I´d talked about "Scifi- medicine"... so about things he hopes that will be achieved still in the medicine to come in 100/ 200 or years counting from his time. The Star Trek medicine is advanced, but also there they still would have dreams of seemingly impossible things to come true.

With Garak I´d talk about the cardassian education system and comparison to other educatonal systems...also I´d like to discuss with him the phrase "Education is power, joy is vulnerability".

^ To be fair, that was one of Dukat's favorites but I'm sure you could get an interesting riff off it by Mr Garak.

I would go for an in-depth analysis of the compatibilities between Terran and Cardassian literature which could help establish common ground between the two races. (alas, the Humans are too shockingly naive when it comes to politics. still, the hope is there...)

Oh I would also discuss it with Dukat or both at one table *g* would be "fun". However I think discussing with Garak might prove somewhat more successful...

Discussing History would also be nice..or in general society..and morales.... and the psychological effects of indoctriantion....and I would ask, if in a military staate with all that soldiers there are more cases of postraumatic disorders (I mean our soldiers in todays life have quite a lot disorders after they come from a war-like situation)...I would want to know how cardassia deals with psychological traumata and in general with any sort of disabilty, be it psychological, mental, physical...
Ui and I would like to know what kind of songs do Cardassians sing.. what kind of music do they listen to or play, what kind of poetry do they have, if they have dances etc. and what kind of dreams for the future they have. That with the dreams I´d like to discuss with Garak and Damar at one table during the rebellion.

I wouldn't mind hearing all about the comparison of the Cardassian Justice System to the early 20th Century earth Justice System....from both Garak and Dr. Bashir....[especially about the Mentally driven crimes you know the crimes committed by the insane]

Now THAT'd be a good debate discussion there between them....
