So will there be an epic battle in Rogue One?

i was looking at the opening crawl of A New Hope...and it mentioned that the Rebels had their first major win, and during that battle is when the plans for the Death Star made its way to Princess Leia.

Based on that, we ought to be seeing an epic battle, with ships (not just the ground battle we've seen in the previews).


Any word or speculation on that?

No, nothing like that. The OP is asking IF there are any epic space battles in the movie. From that I can infer that he has not seen any of the trailers which depict those space battles, so seeing animated gifs of some of the clips might not be something he wants to view before going to the movie, which is why I hid them behind spoiler code to give him the choice.

As he was talking about ships and space I think I would still give the edge to the ROTJ siege on Endor and Death Star 2........especially given that it was all models.......Could just be because I remember seeing at as a 10 year old and being blown away. Don't get me wrong the battle in Rogue One is really amazing and some great 1st person shots from the X-Wings.

Funny, subconsciously...........none of the prequel battles even crossed my mind.

Really? for me, that opening was the best...and most dramatic battles. That was one of the elements that ROTS great for me (the level where the 1st two should have been)

I'm the opposite for me there was no drama there.
