So who was at the church?

Ben (I hope he does join the group)
I was amazed he didn't join right away. He spent years (presumably) helping Hurley safeguard the island. Some of that goodness must have rubbed off.
I really like the idea that Ben is waiting for Alex.
Fair enough. Sucks that Michael wasn't released from the island somehow, though.

I totally lost track of Desmond. What happened with him?

It isn't about whether you've earned the right to be there in the eyes of others. It's about whether you yourself believe you deserve it. Obviously Michael hasn't yet forgiven himself. Or if he has he'll wait for Walt, for whom the island was not the defining time of his life and so he is not part of this group.

Ben, on the other hand, believes he is almost ready to forgive himself. Almost.

Yeah I agree. It ties in to what Hurley was telling Sayid about how no one can decide whether you are a good guy or a bad guy but yourself. Ben hasn't figured it out yet which side he falls on.

I was sad that Vincent wasn't in the church!

At the church I was thinking "where's Vincent?" and then they cut to the island and Vincent comes running up. It was perfect!

I guess Jimmy Kimmel was correct when he said "All dogs don't necessarily go to heaven."

I assume so, as Ben told Hurley that keeping people on the island was 'Jacob's way' and that Hurley could do things differently. The boat Smokey was going to take off the island was still there. He could have used that. Or he could have turned the wheel...

Well, I guess these weren't people who wanted to move on together. They had their own families and such to meet up with.
