Jokes aside, Star Trek will never do an official canon crossover for the same reason no television series does.

The licensing issues would be insane and dog them for eternity.

Also dr who has been canceled for the foreseeable future ss well as SNW permanently. Its pretty much over.

I think what Fred is saying is that the Fifteenth Doctor actually says "we need to visit Star Trek sometime." Which would mean no previous Doctors have been to the Trek universe.

Of course, the comics did give us Matt Smith visiting TNG and Tom Baker visiting TOS, but I guess non canon and all that fun stuff.

Comics also had the cast of TNG hanging out with the X-Men

I do wonder how their was some old Doctor Who movies not connected to the tv show back in the day. Is Doctor Who in the British version of public domain or something?

Doctor Who was only a couple of years old at the time, so it's unlikely to have been in the Public Domain. The movies were based on some of the early serials and made in co-operation with the BBC. A guy basically paid them for the movie rights.

In theory if Star Trek wanted a crossover then could Paramount do the same? Granted they likely could't use any of actors from the shows and so you would still see some differences but it would still sort of count as a crossover.

Why couldn’t they use one of the actors. As long as they never show them use the sonic screwdriver or call themselves “The Doctor”…there shouldn’t be a problem. It would be an unofficial crossover but it should be ok.

I was thinking of that. Maybe that would be possible. I could see a scene were Peila is talking to David Tennant wearing very Doctor like clothing in the background. Pike from afar approaches Number One and asks 'Who is that?" Number One says "A old friend of Pelia. I think he said his name was. ..." A call from the bridge interrupts her sentence. They are both needed on the bridge and they leave. Never completing the sentence.

In theory, but the BBC would never be willing to sell the type of use license needed for Paramount to actually consider taking such an action.

BBC are desperate for cash due to more and more brits not paying into their TV " licence" extortion racket.

I could see them selling a one off deal for some cash as well as trying to drive up some interest. BBC has worked with other companies before. British companies on the whole are far less likely to clutch pearls than American companies and collaborate on projects. That's more to do with limited budgets in the UK and collaboration allowing the pooling of resources.

It wouldn't be a "one off deal", it would have to be a persistent eternal license, otherwise Paramount would no longer be able to do anything with the episode the moment the license expired.

And that includes things like referencing it in other episodes or media.
