So My Mother Had A Brain Aneurysm Today...

scary birthday..
but you might look back on it as the birthday were you found out your mom will be around longer.
and you played a part by getting her the help she needed.

As pleased as I usually am to have a StarMan sighting, I wish this were under better circumstances.
StarMan always did like to enter with a flourish.

Seriously, though, I'm also glad to hear that this was deemed a mild case and that the outlook is good. Here's wishing for a full recovery.

So sorry to hear of your Mum, Starman. I can sympathize with you because my mother had two heart attacks in 2007 and had to be hospitalized for three weeks. You can't eat, you can't sleep. All you can do is sit around the house and cry and think about your loved one in the hospital when you're used to her being in the house all the time. I had found her one day after work saying that it was hard for her to breathe. I looked at her and she was awfully pale. Then she went on her side and started gasping for air. She was very close to death when Dad called the ambulance. Then the Doctor told us she was in congestive heart failure, I hit the seat with a thud and started crying. The next day we transferred to another hospital and Mom wanted me to call the whole family to let them know that Mom has had a heart attack. One of our good time family friends was so upset and distraught that she brought herself and her sister, dropped everything she was doing, and drove three hours to see us. It was one of the most stressful and emotional times of my life! But Mom did pull through it and I'm glad your Mum is doing much better. Best hopes to her speedy recovery!

Good to hear from you all.

Surgery successful. Recovery time is up in the air... All signs are positive.

According to the surgeon 30% of people would not have survived day 1. Her proximity to me was incredibly lucky. Imagine if she'd been driving ... ?

One life-threatening incident like this is enough for my lifetime. Now she is more than welcome to linger on to 120+

Yes, in a situation like that, quick response and initial treatment is key. With my friend, part of the reason she fared so badly was a delayed response from the ambulance.

I'm very happy to hear that your Mother is doing well. :bolian:
