So my blood pressure is still kinda high

It was 140/85 to 150/95 for over a year. The doctor put me on something to slow my heart rate, hoping that would reduce my bp.

Then increased the dosage.

Well, my bp is usually around 120/80 in the morning, but by the late morning it's 140/90 +/- 5/5. A bit higher at night. Last night before bed, it was 157/99.

When it's like that, I can't sleep on my side because that makes my chest hurt (more than it usually sometimes aches). Now Hubby's gotten a bit nervous about making love sometimes (I asked after noticing hs hesitency) and he's a pharmacist--so he knows something about drugs, right?

I see the doctor in just over a week. I have the Bar at the end of July--but I'm not consciously freaking. But dreaming about discussing defamation with my study partners tells me that I'm unconsciously concerned. I can't do a whole lot about that.

Damn! After all this work, both academic and personal, to get to this point, I'm gonna be pissed if I have a heart attack during the Bar. And it won't be very good for the others there either (although last year, there was an earthquake in LA during the Bar--I've heard that their test scores were higher than usual).

From experience, the bar is probably a factor in your high BP. My advice: relax as much as you can. Are you going to work at the same time as taking the test? If so, I advise agfainst it if you can swing it.

My dad started exercising (cardio) 40 mins a day and sticking to a diet that had "points" for lowering blood pressure-- worked very well and he's been on that for about 6 months.

I'm only doing 2 (unpaid) internship days at the courthouse. That's ending before BarBri starts next month. I may go back to it in August.

I was trying to do treadmill at a max of 2.5 mph, keeping my heartrate definitely under 90 bpm. I take the speed up to 2.0 mph and slowly raise it, bring it down when my chest starts hurting, taking it up or down 0.1 mph at a time, depending on pain. About an hour of this. About 3 times/wk. It's the pain that slows me down and keeps me from doing anything more strenuous.

'Course, it can ache without any exercise at all. Like sitting here now. I think that's what's worrying Hubby. Me too.
