Of course, IQ is not a valid measure of intelligence; it's just a measure of how good you are at taking IQ tests. Which is as much a matter of experience with the test format and with its underlying cultural assumptions as it is of actual intelligence or problem-solving ability.

Real-life POTUS's in comics are problematic. Using Marvel's sliding timeline, the man who ordered the creation of the first Sentinels could have been anyone from Johnson to Dubya. Obama will eventually be the signer of the SHRA, and the man who fired Nick Fury after 'Secret War', though prolly for different reasons than Bush gave to Maria Hill. For the conspiracies shown in Marvel and DC to go fwd, those politicians not made of whole cloth must be dumb as dirt, much like the common people who seem ready to turn on their heroes at the first mistake, real or imagined.

I think in the instance of the newest issue of Thunderbolts, Osborn was NOT trying to prove he had never been the Green Goblin; rather that he was NOT the Goblin in question that attacked Thunderbolts Mountain back in the last arc Ellis wrote. Of course we know differently, but I thought it was a rather interesting move on his part the way he pulled it off. If nothing else, it casts doubt on the idea that he recently ran amuck slaughtering helpless gaurds.
