Sad to say that I had to pick "no." Wrote less in '07 than '06 (I don't have a word count, but the compiled PDF backup comes out about fifty pages shorter), sold less (four short stories, half of which were actually recycled from previous years), and failed to carry through on my intention to finally get started on one of the less research-intensive novel ideas in my file. I'd blame the increased workload of my thesis, which did eat into my time, but the truth of the matter is I just don't seem to be as productive when not working under deadlines. Had none these past two months, and they were pretty much write-offs. I've never thought of myself as one of those people who works best under pressure, but damned if there isn't a better motivator than a looming due date. I officially resolve to do better next year (on the writing side, I mean... can't really control sales)... which, unfortunately, won't be altogether that difficult to fulfill.
