SNL's Weekday Weekend Update Special

Makes me wonder what Saturday night's SNL is going to be like. Lame? Re-running the debate opener from Thursday? Re-use a "classic" sketch from an earlier episode? Or are they truly producing 2 hours of live content a week this month?

From what I can find, it will be the Michael Phelps repeat.

There's buzz that the real Sarah Palin might be making an appearance.

That would be cool. John McCain's appearance was one of the highlights of last season. (My favorite part was when he talked about the pork barrel project to develop a device to jam gaydar. "I don't know if this is pro-gay or anti-gay or if such a device would even work.")

I wonder if they'd put Palin on screen with Tina Fey. That's often SNL at its best. I recall Steve Forbes & Mark McKinney playing Steve Forbes in 1996, Tommy Lee nearly beating the crap out of a cast member (Norm MacDonald?) playing Tommy Lee making out with Pamela Anderson Lee, and a Weekend Update interview where Mike Myers played Mick Jagger & Mick Jagger played Keith Richards.

I read some pundit saying how putting Palin on SNL would be devastating for the democrats because when Palin is on a script she will be charming. I have to agree. She may be an idiot and a complete joke but for some reason some people out there fucking love her.

"But I do know this--jamming gaydar is not a federal responsibility. That's something best left to state and local government."

I'm John McCain and I approve this message.
