Interesting...I hope the season 9 finale is good and not like season 8.

After season 5 the show has lost it's way...hopefully season 10 will be Smallville's redemption.

So the set-up for next season could potentially be(all speculation on my part)...

1) Clark taking a leadership role and really becoming a true hero(heard that before).

2) Chloe dying(dunno, could happen).

3) Martha Kent as some sort of super spy/politico "Red Queen"(it would give her more to do than just be Clark's mother figure I guess).

4) Tess, Oliver and Lois all staying more or less as they are currently.

5) Zod, the only real question mark in my mind. I would love to see a bait and switch and Zod become a good guy(or die a noble death against this "new" threat).

6) Which of course leads us to this new threat. If it is Apocolypse as has been hinted at that could be fun.

Interesting...I hope the season 9 finale is good and not like season 8.

That's two of us, Jet. Last year's finale sucked beyond belief, it totally demeaned the whole Doomsday storyline by having Doucheman dispose of him that easily.

I have higher hopes for this season, though certain reservations as well, concerning a certain character's fate.

I knew I'd get the Mickey taken out of me for the mistake oh well all in good fun. I have a feeling based on the bits of information we've got that the finale is going to make up for the lackluster season eight finale. Despite how long this season has felt and all the machinations going on it seems like they're building towards something BIG. I think Chloe is going to die and there is going to be a huge battle between Clark members of the Justice Society and League against Zod and the Kandorians. The way Peterson mentions that all of Chloe's schemes and plots will cost her...and it will be interesting to see who the Red Queen is revealed.

Apocalypse is Marvel's character and an X-Men villain. You mean Darkseid from the planet Apokolips.

The way Peterson mentions that all of Chloe's schemes and plots will cost her...and it will be interesting to see who the Red Queen is revealed.

They're making me think that Chloe is the Red Queen.

I just had a thought about the finale. Since Checkmate/Suicide Squad has been introduced on the show, could "Salvation" be referring to the planet Salvation that was used in the miniseries Salvation Run? That Checkmate is able to round up several of the heroes (and possibly Zod and his cronies) and toss them on a distant world (cue cliffhanger)? It could open the door for Apokolips (since that did play a role in the comic series and TPTB have hinted at introducing it in the show).

^ Interesting theory but maybe a bit too complex for the Smallville writers. We know from Johns that Apocalypse is Apokolips the planet and Waller's faction of Checkmate is planning for some war that she needs the meta-humans on board for...and I doubt she's referring to the Kandorians.

^^NX I don't think Chloe is the Red Queen even though someone pointed out (I'm not sure if it was here or in a discussion I was having with a friend) she appeared in a red outfit after the scene with Max. All I'll say about the Red Queen is that I find it highly suspicious and not just due to her not being on the show any more...that Kryptonite Woman hasn't been mentioned during this business with the Kandorian clones. It's probably way out there and probably will be Red Queen but Ausseillro did mention in one of his scoops that there was an unconfirmed rumor that Kristen Kruek was spotted on set. Weather or not it was due to her just visiting some friends or if she was filming or if it was even her at all...but ever since I read that it has me intrigued enough to include her as one of my two picks for the Queen.

Maybe the Red Queen's faction is the one who wants the metahumans off the planet thinking they are more hinder than help.

Or

If Waller's faction is at play (in my theory), perhaps she's going to send them there to as a first stand against Apokolips.

In the write-up of the episode, it says that Ollie suddenly disappears in front of Chloe (or something like that). That also is what helped me form my theory. Boom tube, perhaps?

Interesting theory about Lana, though.
