Smallville Justice Society episodes will be a two hour one night event

Re: Smallville Justice Society episodes will be a two hour one night e

Great!! I was sure they would make this a mid season cliffhanger forcing us to hold on until March to watch the second half.

Re: Smallville Justice Society episodes will be a two hour one night e

it will also make it really easy to sell those two episodes on an individual DVD, as well as part of the series box set,

They can even do the inevitable "special edition cut."

And in the second part, "Legends", we'll see the first appearance of a certain DC character, who will appear in multiple episodes:
Amanda Waller

You know (late to the party with this discussion), I haven't watched Smallville for several years and only peripherally cared about it. I've gotten the impression people think it's gotten better?

Anyway, I'm unlikely to start caring seriously again, but I intend to watch this Justice Society two-parter/movie, because the Society has some characters that I've absolutely come to adore from Johns' comics. If they can do justice to Fate, Hawkman, and Stargirl, I'll be a happy camper.

Oh, definitely. The original showrunners who were running it into the ground and trapping Clark in a farmboy status quo departed at the end of the season before last, and the new showrunners have totally revitalized the show, having Clark finally begin to embrace his superheroic destiny and take a job at the Daily Planet, to the point that he's now Superman in all but name and costume (though he still can't fly). There have been lots of cast changes as well, but the new characters have turned out to be pretty interesting. Last season featured an interpretation of Doomsday which was immensely more engaging and dramatic than the mindless thug of the comics, and this season we're getting a fascinating new take on Zod. Plus we're getting more characters from DC mythology, such as the Legion of Super Heroes last season (or at least the classic threesome coming back in time to visit Clark) and the JSA this season.

It can still be pretty terrible, but I would agree that Smallville overall improved considerably once the original showrunners left and the new PTB started moving things forward.

Cool! Maybe I'll try and catch up then. I remember Ollie Queen had made some serious guest-starring appearances... he still around?

I thought you summed it up nicely, Christopher.

I was so disappointed with the way last season's finale played out, with the lousy DD fight, the destruction of Davis's character, and the revelation of Zod's return that I considered not watching the new season. So I've been pleasantly surprised with how this season has been playing out, as well as the Zod storyline.
