Slipped in the tub

I had a fun little spill 2 mornings ago (in case you're wondering about my brief absence).

I slipped in the shower, sliced my eyelid (it hit bone, luckily) on the back ledge of the tub (and yeah, it bled), banged my head, scraped the inner bridge of my nose towards that eye, bruised my left thigh and right knee. I basically had a butterfly bandage over my eyelid for most of 2 days until late last night. So, right now I'm nursing a black eye with a healing cut and a scab near it and bruises all over my body.

I'm such a klutz.

I've been getting to play the sympathy card big time since I had to go to a function wearing sunglasses later on the day that the accident happened and my much older half-brother just left from visiting (he had to attend a friend's father's funeral). The Starbucks mocha was a nice little gift this morning.

I slept and watched T.V. in bed most of yesterday (the bruises were really hurting).

That does sound awfully damn painful.

I can relate. My mother often refers to my life as a perpetual Chevy Chase movie.

Man, you're lucky you didn't break your neck. Glad to hear you're okay.

Was the tub damaged?

I ask partly in jest and partly because my sister fell in the tub and ripped the soap dish out of the wall.

Granted it was just grouted in with a very thin layer of cement but we still take the piss out of her over it.

I slipped in the shower about ten years ago and broke my toe on one of the taps. All these years later and my toe still clicks.

Hopefully you wont bleed out of your eye for ten years.

Ouch! No way to land good where your surrounded by porcelain. Really always make sure you have a mat down on the tub. They are cheap and really do work.

I slipped getting into a tub in a hotel not too long ago. The only thing that happened was that I hit my shin on the edge of the tub and got a major bruise. The bruise is long gone but the area is still swollen a bit and its been over a month.

(in Nelson's voice)Ha-ha!

Just kidding. I know the feeling, I did something similar when I was a kid and now I have a big scar across my eyebrow.
