Six e-books on sale Jan. 3, 2015

Hopefully this sale had a good turnout and the decision makers at S&S see that lowering older ebook prices is a profitable idea.

Amazon UK have increased prices on almost all their Trek ebooks in the last week. :(

Amazon UK now has to charge you FULL VAT based on where you are at time of purchase. So if you are in the UK, it's gone from 3% to 20%. Blame the EU government for lumping in eBooks with other digital goods/services instead of treating them like the books they are.

Yes, it's a shame. There were loads for £2.99 each, but now they're mostly £3.72 minimum. A few have managed to slip the net so I'm buying those up just in case while they're still cheaper. This afternoon - within the last hour, actually - the Into Darkness novelisation has jumped from £1.99 to £4.70. But some of the price changes are very random; DS9's The Missing has been bouncing from £2.99 to £3.99 all week. Vanguard's Declassified has been reduced by a whole 19p today, after having already been reduced by 19p yesterday as well. I don't understand.

And annoyingly we're still missing a huge chunk of the numbered TOS/TNG/Voyager back catalogue on the UK site. :(

All the missing TOS and TNG books are ones that were published in the UK by Titan Books, but there are still plenty of other TOS/TNG Titan-published titles still available for download. Titan didn't publish Voyager though.

Something else I don't understand; Amazon UK sell all the numbered Trek books for Kindle...in German. They won't let me buy English versions of The IDIC Epidemic or Vendetta or From the Depths or Boogeyman or a hundred other Trek books, but they're more than happy to sell me those same books in German. If Amazon UK aren't allowed to sell these in English, how come they can sell German versions of the same books?

Different publishers have different rights in different regions. Amazon UK is just the vendor.
