Sisko vs Other Captain-Round 2

Take the entire situation in In the Pale Moonlight, plant captains: Archer, Janeway, Kirk, and Picard into episode instead of Sisko.

Would the other capts done the same as Sikso?
What different nuances would a Kirk have done say over Picard or Janeway.

Though I'm no fan of Janeway, I think she'd done practically the same as Sisko, b/c of the alliance struck w/the Borg in fighting 8472.

What I find cool about ITPM is how Garak and Sisko used Romulan tactics to get the Romulans into the war.

Picard: would have denied that there even was a war and rambled on about how humanity has evolved past war and humans will never be in a war again, then hightailed it the heck out of there to go do some vegetation surveys on some worthless planet whilst the war was raging.

Kirk: Kirk would have done the exact same thing as the Sisko, only without the reservations about it that the Sisko had. Kirk would have been very receptive to everything Garak had to say from the word go.

Archer: didn't really watch ENT long enough to comment on this.

Janeway: would have volunteered to murder the Senator herself in order to speed things up, similarly to how she murdered Tuvix and was very gung-ho about doing so.

LMAO

Archer: tortured but would check w/the Vulcan high command and curse them afterward. Seriously, prolly would have locked Garak up after killing the Romulan

Picard: Meeestuh Garak we have rock somp-ulz to collect, I haven't the time or the stomach for this war...thing....hmmphh...Romulans....Dax wanted to the Romulans teamed w/our Federation...the very idea.....

Picard would have ultimately done the same thing, though unlike Sisko who wussed out about it and acted like it never happened he would have grown from the experience and we'd see this in his later characterization.

Kirk would have been more dreary about it for the rest of his days since he seemed to just get more depressive as time went on.

Janeway, yeah. She was more militant to begin with.

Kirk would have done what Sisko did, and patted Garak on the back for it too, but afterwards might have felt remorse, in later years.

Picard would have spouted something about how it goes against his deepest Federation values, then done it with even more remorse than Sisko had.

Janeway would have tried Garak's way, then when it all blew up in her face, killed Vreenak herself, then she'd give Garak a lecture on morality.

Archer wouldn't have got into this situation, as soon as the war started, he would have gone to the Dominion side and hammered out a peace treaty at the expense of the Federation, because of those damn-restrictive-Vulcans-controlling-us, and we would all now be living under Dominion rule. If somehow he was in this situation, he would do what Sisko did, and thrown Garak down in a dark brig, and then complain to the Vulcans again.

I think the other characters would've all done the same thing for one reason: They love their home, Earth, and would do anything to prevent it being under Dominion rule or suffering massive casualties at the hands of the Jem'Hadar. Each one would've both relished and regretted it to varying degrees on anguish. Kirk would've been as regretful as Sisko, Arccher and Janeway would've been less regretful, and Picard would've been the most torn by his decision. -- RR

Only real difference in the Kirk scenario would have been that he'd have had Spock make the fake recording instead, and it would have passed inspection, so he wouldn't have had to have Garak blow up the shuttle...
