There's still a storm of rumors flying around, but the best I can make out of what I've read is that someone thought it'd be funny to make a fake news story that Rick Astley had been found dead in his Berlin hotel room. I even thought it was real at first...until I went in search of a legitimate news source to back up the story...and couldn't find one. Apparently this iReport is the news equivalent to Wikipedia, where anyone can post damn near anything as news.

So, in case anyone's Twitter or Facebook friends are freaking out through their tweets (or whatever theyre called), apparently it's all some sick joke. :rolleyes:

I miss the days of a good old fashioned Rick Roll, personally.
 
The journalists are certainly running around and deserting whatever story they're on right now.

This sort of thing, despite what others say, makes me cry.
 
I see the above link is now "currently unavailable" - someone must have pulled the story now (having read it here? ;)).
 
Those bastards had me hopeful...

I'd assassinate him myself if I thought I'd get away with it..

I was in the UK when that song hit...and heard it one too many times for my sanity..
 
I'm getting sick of these celebrity death hoaxes . . . the most famous of which is Jeff Goldblum who's had that hoax occur several times
 
He should come out of retirement and appear on Colbert to confirm his own death. "I did indeed give you up and let you down. I deserted you. Goodbye. I'm telling a lie to hurt you."
