SimCity for SuperNintendo?

Anyone out there still play it? Found an old copy a few months back, as well as a small website giving some tips, but would like links to better websites. Have been playing the crap out of it...it is fun to set up a small city and let it run overnight, and when you return to the game in the morning, you have a few hundred thousand dollars to play with. That is, if it hasn't burnt to the foundation in the interim...

The game I bought was out of the wrapper and didn't have the little booklet that came with it, so I have been playing it by ear. Does anyone know where to find an online version of the booklet, if indeed it does exist? Anyone have any other useful tips?

I kind of remember that version, though I never played it.

I do remember a brilliant version for the BBC Micro, in 4 colours and crammed into 32k of memory. Best BBC Micro port ever. :bolian:

I have never played the SNES version, although I knew a person back in high school that played that version a lot. I always played Sim City (all of them) on PC.

Been playing all vacation, and a few questions have arisen, even after looking through the FAQs and the associated forum that Ford SVT sent with that excellent link...

(1) How do you build schools? I believe they automatically and randomly appear, like hospitals, when putting down Residential zones, but is there any way to get them to appear, so you can receive the Library gifts?

(2) Related to (1), how do you identify schools? How do they look differently than a low-level Residential zone?

(3) What is the correct ratio of Residential:Commercial:Industrial zones? I have been building successful cities with a 2:1:1 ratio (2 Residentials to every 1 Commercial and 1 Industrial), but seem to top out at about 250-275k population, and nowhere near the 500k that is supposed to be possible without "stacking".

(4) Once you receive the Library gifts, can you then bulldoze schools and hospitals, putting down new Residentials that will (hopefully) grow into proper R-zones? I am of the understanding that you can, but I don't want to hose my city if I'm wrong.

FWIW, I have discovered that the schools appear at random and there is no way to specifically construct one in order to obtain the Library gifts.

And to find the schools, you must use The View that you get at 50,000 citizens and zoom in and out of areas...the school will still look like a building while the rest of the area shows R1-Rtop.
