NBC axes My Name is Earl, and FOX says it might pick it up, in the end it doesnt, and it looks like My Name is Earl is axed.

until today

TBS is considering rescuing My Name Is Earl.According to Variety, the cable network is looking to pick up the sitcom for 13 episodes. TBS already airs reruns of the 20th Century Fox TV-produced show.
The programme, starring Jason Lee as a man trying to right his previous wrongs, ran for four seasons on NBC before being axed last month.
Discussions between Earl producers and TBS are said to be in the early stages, with the network viewing the show as a good fit for their comedy lineup, which includes The Bill Engvall Show, My Boys and 10 Items Or Less.
just let axed TV shows die already

But it's still funny. I hope it continues for a couple of years more at least.

I dont know some of last seasons episodes were awful, and I think 27 episdoes was a few too many

if it was 27 good episodes then that might be ok, but every few weeks there are some bad ones, which really makes me question why so many?

The same could be said of most American shows that have a long season. There's usually some filler.

Your original point was that axed shows should stay axed - and you use that show as an example because you think it's gone downhill. But would you feel the same about a show you really liked that went through the same "axed/brought back" scenario? See where I'm going with this?

 yes I know I have previously thanked CBS for bringing Medium back.

not that it matters now that the BBC have axed it.:klingon:

TBS, eh? Well, if there's one thing My Name Is Earl has been lacking it's people walking across the bottom of the screen telling us about upcoming shows.

Most shows that are axed aren't picked up by other networks, so plenty of shows die, including many that die before their time. I'm all for shows being given a second chance by another outlet.

If you don't watch the show, who cares if it's on the air or not?

Exactly, it's not like it is 7th Heaven or According to Jim or something that wouldn't ever die, it would only be the 5th season. Plus TBS wants 100 episodes most likely, so why not? Doesn't get in the way of the other shows that are better, they have nothing better!

I'd kind of agree. It seems that shows are either murdered young or put on life support until they're dessicated hulks of their former selves. Rare for a show to die a natural death after a reasonable run anymore.

thank you

I'd be happy if Pushing Daisies and Reaper had not be allowed to die. :wtf:

I have nothing against Earl surviving on basic cable. There's a shitload of time to fill on basic cable. It won't bump anything I watch.

If it's on a network, it could be hogging precious airtime that could go to something better. But on basic cable, pffft.
