Should TOS "The Man Trap" be remade as a future J.J. Abrams Star Trek film? "The Man Trap" is a season one episode that deserves another reboot.

I don't think so. It is a good episode, but nothing happens that would really benefit from being two hours long and on a big screen.

You know, not every random thought about Star Trek that someone pulls out of their ass needs a thread topic devoted to it.

Well I guess they could make a sci-fi/horror film out of it.

Hell use a disposable guest crew for it so you have plenty of victims.

    No.

But I would be in favor of nuKirk making out with a lady who turns into a salt vampire.

    No more remakes.

Seriously. I love the Salt Vampire, but the only reason to remake something is if it had wasted potential. I say lets remake the Savage Curtain. Who should play Abe?

There are loads of episodes I'd give the movie remake treatment before "The Man Trap". "Doomsday Machine" springs to mind - it'd fit the big-budget blockbuster mould pretty well.

Agree. "Doomsday Machine" would be viable.

Hmm.... If the salt vampire's true form was a fifty-foot rampaging monster that was constantly wreaking havoc, destroying starships and buildings, and eating crewmembers left and right, then it might be an interesting concept for the big screen.

    ..... or not.

Perhaps with a broader scope, "The Changeling" would fit that bill pretty well, too. :D

The real question is what stories could be expanded to 120 minutes and maintain their strength and integrity? I mean, fiddle with bits and pieces of some episodes, add a subplot, and you could end up with a good feature film story.

Played for light laughs, "Tomorrow is Yesterday" could've probably been made into a good fish out of water story like TVH.

What about a Spectre of the Gun remake guest starring Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell
