Should there be a serious space sci fi show that is accessible to every American TV?

YouTube is becoming a content provider just because of how many people on their can be entertaining.

Between things like the Angry Video Game Nerd, CinemaSins, the Nostalgia Critic, Phil Skimbosh, MagicOfRahat, Honest Trailers, Backyard Scientist, Smarter Every Day, 5-Minute Crafts, Crazy Russian Hacker, Simon's Cat, and more, it's easy to go a year just watching things on Youtube.

CinemaSins: "Seven fucking minutes of commercials!" (DING)

I want a sci fi show with all Humans somehow like advanced ones that only look Human for instance and beautiful technology very brightly lit and Space Command ain't it with those 1920 ships and designs. A lot of people left that internet show because of creative differences and I can see why. The ships looked like Space Ranger ships. I'm pushing for a new 2001ish type series.

That would be nice, but sadly there just doesn't seem to be enough interest to support something like that on the major networks. Pretty much every sci-fi show that's come out on the big networks hasn't been able to last.
The Orville is pretty much the only non-superhero sci-fi show that has even been moderately successful in quite a while.

Sometimes I wonder why they still try. Really, just produce a new CSINCISNSU tv show. Why do they even bother to do somethingthing different?

No one has the right to entertainment. Would a serious space science-fiction show on network television be nice, preferably one with no graphic violence and/or gore? Sure would be. But seeing as I don't have the money to produce it myself, I don't have the right to demand it. There are plenty of other entertainment options in the meantime. Heck, you can go back and re-watch old Star Trek/Babylon 5/Andromeda/whatever floats your boat episodes like I have been.

I'm trying to think of a major network space opera TV series that was a hit. Nothing comes to mind. It's just not a mainstream thing. Star Wars movies may do ridiculously well, but all the talk over the last ten or fifteen years about a live action Star Wars TV series hasn't led to anything, because Star Wars works as a big occasional spectacle that people have to pay up front to see and wouldn't necessarily work on TV.

SyFy is hardly a premium channel. I think it's available in the lowest, most basic packages.

Of course then it still boils down to over-paying for that basic package, which I no longer do.

Overpriced cable/satellite and/or crap like CBSAA, they really invite piracy

Star Gate is still going on as we speak. I hate it and the concept but there was something about the original movie that made it a hit. I guess it was the stars and that Vaughn Williams ripped off music. It was like Trek light.
