In the final scene of Nothing Human the Doc delets the program of Dr. Crell Moset, I think that was a mistake. In his last statement Moset, makes a very strong point to keeping him active in the database. By using Mosets expertise he became as culpbable at Moset. Just having him in the holo database would have been no big deal, and very possible that it could have saved lives in the future. I am of the opinion that the Doc really blew it on this one, what about you...

Umm, I think being mean to the simulation of Moset is a nice way to compensate for one's culpability.

Perhaps they should have tortured the simulation for a while before deleting it?

Moset's research methods were cruel, and if someone was in a position to stop him at that time, then they should have made an effort to do so. Using his program does not condone those actions, it only tries to make the best of them. Perhaps a bright young student could put it to good, humane use and even expand on the original knowledge.

If the FDA banned all animal testing of soap, that doesn't mean that the millions of existing soaps should immediately be sent to the landfill. If the research is no longer supported, then there is no reason to squander the resources that were used to produce them.

The premise of that entire episode was so incredibly absurd. First off, IT WAS A FREAKING HOLOGRAM! It wasn't the actual guy. How hard was that for the Voyager crew to understand? The damage was already done, all of those people had already died. So now they aren't going to use the knowledge that came from those deaths, even though that is the only thing that could actually give them some meaning? So stupid.

I never saw what the big deal was about this. When they deleted the hologram did they also delete the data that was stored (ie the results of the research)? If they deleted the hologram so what - it would have just drained more of Voyager's power reserves. If they also deleted the research results then that was just stupidity. They may need his results one day and it isn't like (well in the later seasons maybe) they could just hail Starfleet and get the data back.

I thought about that solution also, why not just change him into a Bajorian, Human...ect. But, that would have ruined the episode, they needed a bad guy and Moset was the one...

And that is what we call a "contrivance," and why the episode was just a bad idea.

It almost seems like they had two different ideas that got smooshed together into this episode. An exploration of the actual alien might have been more interesting, instead of yet another trumped up morality play.

I agree with the Doc's decision. This is one of the very few episodes of Trek that tries to preach a 'moral lesson' for which I agree with the 'lesson' they are preaching.
