Should Arex and/or M'Ress appear in Discovery?

Over on a different thread, @Christopher mentioned that:

"TAS has been as good as canon for decades. DS9's writers and ENT's writers and the Bad Robot movie writers have referenced elements from it. If a Discovery writer wanted to feature Arex or M'Ress or Carter Winston or whatever, absolutely nothing would stop them from doing that."

So my question is, in the modern age of CGI in which Arex and/or M'Ress could feature in a 'live action' series, should they?

As for myself, I honestly don't know. I love these two characters, and think Discovery should be able to utilise any and all effects to portray a vaster array of alien species, but at the same time I'm wondering if it's something that wouldn't live up to expectations, and just spoil the characters.

But what do you guys think?

Crossover appearances aren't that unheard of, in fact they're pretty much an established part of such an interlinked continuity. Scotty, Spock, and Sarek appeared in TNG, Kang, Koloth and Kor appeared in DS9...

Memory Alpha says the species were from TAS, but weren't named until the novels..

I think she was from some unspecified alien catlike race. Pretty sure Star Trek can't use an alien identified as a Kzin. That race is owned by author Larry Niven as part of his Known Space series, despite him using them in the adaptation of his short story "The Soft Weapon" as the TAS episode "The Slaver Weapon". They'd have to obtain the rights to use the Kzinti in something new.

Besides, Kzinti females are described as non-sentient in the Known Space stories. And no mention of having three...

Em/3/Green's species was unnamed in "The Jihad," but Treklit names the species Nasat.
