This blows my mind. Researchers in the US and Japan have created a link over the Internet between a monkey with electrodes implanted in her brain and a large bipedal robot, such that when the monkey thinks about walking, the robot starts walking itself. The researchers claim that by the end of the year, they will be able to demo the technology for humans with paralysed limbs, allowing them to regain the use of those limbs when augmented with a brain-controlled exoskeleton.
