The Trek Collective has posted the preview of the Ships of the Line 2017 calendar!

http://www.thetrekcollective.com/2016/05/ships-of-line-2017-covers-and-other.html

They're focusing heavily on TOS this year, presumably because of the anniversary, so there's not as much diversity in the calendar this year. And sadly, not much in the way of new designs. (Although I think I see a Jefferies concept shuttle in Dave Morton's image!)

The cover image is a cropped version of an image by Doug Drexler, showing ships from across all the eras, though. The full image wasn't available as a full-sized preview, so I could only get a good look at the cropped cover version. And it looks like Doug is throwing FJ's Tech Manual some love... in the background are what appears to be a Federation class, a Ptolemy class, and part of Star Fleet Headquarters:

This one I wasn't sure about at first, but I believe it's a Saber... I'm just not used to seeing it at this angle.

And then these ones I just can't identify at all. The first one looks like an alternate take on the Constitution. I'm thinking I've seen it somewhere before, but I'm not placing it.

This is another one I think I should know, but it's not coming to me. At first I thought it was a ringship, but the arcs don't actually seem to connect, so it doesn't appear to form a full circle.

This one might be some kind of probe? (Friendship 1 does appear elsewhere in the image.)

sotl_2017_unknown3_zpsy33mbyt3.jpg

And this last one looks like it has the pod from a Nebula, but the nacelles are up, rather than down.

Any thoughts?

Yup, definitely a Saber.

I initially thought this might be Gabriel Koerner's take on the Enterprise, but it doesn't quite match. Hard to tell, but it looks almost like a Connie done with the refit NX-01 parts, but a completely new saucer.

I initially thought it might be the IXS Enterprise done by Mark Rademaker for NASA, but that doesn't match. Don't know?

No clue here. Something from the Spaceflight Chronology perhaps?

Ooh! I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't said it, interesting! Might be a Galaxy with a pod.

Again with Capt. Christopher and his F-104? Why don't they just do a 2018 "Tomorrow is Yesterday" calendar and get it out of their system already? I like a nice picture of a F-104 chasing a starship as much as the next guy, but enough already. At least we skipped the seemingly obligatory "ship in orbital drydock" picture this year.

According to Doug Drexler on facebook it's a concept model for the NX Enterprise.

I've done some looking around MA, and it looks like this one might be either a Class 5 probe, or a multispatial probe.

Do you know if he's posted any larger images of it anywhere?

Might be an alternate build of the smaller Springfield Class (similar to how the Miranda and Nebulas come in several different configurations) depending on the scale against the other ships in the image (~300m if the Springfield, compared to the Nebulas ~450m).

This looks like Michael Wiley's alternate refit Galaxy-class "dreadnought" for Bridge Commander. Basically, it's exactly like the AGT Enterprise-D except the third nacelle is replaced by a Nebula-class pod. (He also has one version without the third nacelle, and of course the AGT Enterprise-D herself.)

Wiley did do an image or 2 for a past SOTL, so it could be.

The bridge doesn't have the cannons on it though.

I seem to remember that.

I don't think it is this

Looks a bit like this: https://johneaves.wordpress.com/2011/09/27/nx-01-space-dock-version-1/

I think we saw something similar in the Bandai NX-01 booklet.

Nice

These are still a thing? I haven't actually seen a SotL calendar in a brick-and-mortar store since, like 2008! Where does one buy it?

Malls near where I live usually set up a special calendar store every fall, that's where I get mine.

Thanks for that! I've always wanted to see someone do a CGI version of that one.

I've never seen that particular image before, but I'm really liking that concept ship included there...

Same here. Either in September or October, a place called Calendar Club opens kiosks or actual seasonal stores in various malls. I've always got mine from there, since for some reason Chapters/Indigo doesn't carry the Star Trek calendars. Not sure if Calendar Club is around in the US or not, but it sounds like you've got something similar.

That does remind me of that ship. I believe he named it the Armada Class, but I may be thinking of a different mod.

Hate to dredge this topic out of the abyss, but I finally got my calendar, and I have a question....

On the April image (Starfleet - The Presidio), there is quite obviously the Galileo off to the right (although not a very good model of it), and the very curvy Jefferies shuttlecraft concept in the middle. There's even another Jefferies type flying if you look closely. But I don't recognize the other shuttle in the image, does anyone else? There are actually three copies of it: one in full view of its rear quarter on the left, another halfway obscured by the Jefferies concept (poking out the right), and a third very close to the camera (can only see the window/top of the hull and part of a nacelle). Anyone have any clue as to what this is?

I wondered about those three shuttles, too. They look quite heavy-duty and specific, but as to what purpose I have no idea.
