Holy FRAK!!! The SoTL is finally back! THIS is the kind of stuff we should always see in the calendar. The first image alone just blew me totally away. And I love that we finally get to see a Nebula-Class in one of the images! :) Absolutely stunning work... PLEASE, people who make the calendar... keep up this new standard of quality, and you'll have a winner year after year.

Agreed. I think the crop of new talent they got from the fan community really helped.

I think some of the "amateur" images look as professional as the entries done by the pros. And I cannot wait to see the one that we haven't seen yet--an image that uses actual physical models. Old school baby, yeah!

First off, Gep Malakai is the one who wrote that comment, not me. :)

Second, it would be cool to see some nice model work... maybe feature REL's INCREDIBLE 1701-D or E. :)

In any case, the SoTL is back, and back with a vigor. It's just a shame it took so long to get such awesome and stunning work in the calendar again. THIS is what we need, what we crave. This is also what the whole SoTL premise was all about, from the beginning... to show the fans what kinds of IDEAS the FX people had for the show, that were never seen on-screen... what could have been.

Again, for the PTB who put out the calendar, or who edit it... PLEASE keep up this level of quality from now on. This is just stunning, and I can tell you now, that I won't even have to think about buying it this year... I will because it's so frakkin' awesome, and I WANT it, whereas last year, I only bought it to complete my collection, and nothing more.

That would be Margaret Clark and Doug Drexler, for the most part. (I don't know if Doug was "officially" an editor, or art director, or whatever, but TrekMovie describes him as "wrangler", and he recruited people from over at Sci-Fi Meshes, plus pros that he knows and has worked with.

And I'll add a thanks to all concerned who visited this forum to get feeback and otherwise communicate with those of us here who represent a nice cross-section of the SotL's core audience.

It certainly looks like those threads a few months back had an impact.

If memory serves, our own deg will be contributing for the 2011 calander. Pretty cool, huh?

Every year I get the SOTL calander and I've really never been disappointed. Good stuff!
