Amazon Selling Discounted Firefly Blu-Ray on 9/12

Hey all, I just saw on Amazon that they are having a big TV on DVD sale this upcoming week. Of interest to you guys might be Firefly on Blu-Ray, which will be discounted on Sunday, September 12. There are limited supplies of course, and they don't list the new low price yet. You have to go to their site on that day to see what the price will be. Here is the page showing that and some other deals next week:

Hopefully some of you can grab a copy for cheap.

The actual page has it "marked down" from $89.98 to $41.49 right now. Will it be marked down further than that or is that the Saturday price?

The lowest 3rd party seller has it for $32.14, so it would have to be an extreme discount to beat that price.

^From what I understand it will be marked down even more from the $41.49 price. They state that the "deals" won't be visible until the day of the sale. But who knows just how much lower it will be.

Since the effects are still at 480p, I'd perhaps pay 25 dollars for this if I had money sitting in the bank (I don't). I imagine I'll eventually pick it up one day, but there's no rush. The DVD can more than suffice for a while yet.

I got it for $30 at Wal-Mart a few weeks back. Looks very good in 1080p, even the effects which are upscaled to the higher resolution.

I had been considering getting this but that's still a steep price IMO for something that is HD with only SD special effects.

If you've been waiting to see Blue Sun on Blu-Ray, Amazon has Firefly on sale this week for $25! Okay, sure, it's the 3rd time I've bought the series, but, really, $25? Nothing in the 'verse is gonna stop me! :)

    Take back the sky!

If I hadn't just ordered Mad Men seasons one through three on Blu-ray for $10 each and Lost: The Complete Collection on Blu-ray for $125, I'd be more than willing to buy Firefly for a second time, the first on Blu-ray. But I think having spent $160 on those other titles is enough for now.

Amazon is going to kick my ass today.

They've also got the complete Farscape boxset for $60 and the complete SG-1 boxset for $92.

Ooh, and the BSG Blu-Ray boxset for $148.

I really wish I had $60 to spend on Farscape, or that they make the set only <$40. :)

I have the first season that I bought for $100 back when I didn't know any better. They're now $2 a disc over at a local used shop. Those boxes were really flimsy. I'd be surprised if anybody's held together. I would love to have the whole thing on a handful of Blu discs. I know it's possible.

Yeah, I wasted so much money when I bought them the first time around. It was like $30 for a box containing 4-6 episodes. Absolutely ridiculous. But I was a teenager with no concept of money...live and learn.

Don't ... I've read too many reviews all saying the packaging destroys the dvds inside. Better to get the sets individually at 9-10 bucks and be able to ee the content.

Alo, Best Buy has all five seasons of SGA for 9.99 with free shipping.
