Shields in "Endgame"

I remember back when I first saw "Endgame" during its first run how the future Voyager's shield reminded me of the shields used for the Batmobile in Batman '89. Was this an attempt for something like this to happen or was it just pure coincidense that something like this occured? I mean, I thought it was cool how the ship was able to cover itself up like that, but when I saw it, I was like, ha, Batmobile rip-off :) Anyone else realize that when they first saw "Endgame"? (At least, I think this was the episode)

i thought this question was going to be, why didn't they use traditional shields and bat armour simultaneously? And the first answer to my head was "power limitations" t which I asked myself "whatchu talking about Guy?" and I told myself are we sure that the batarmour was real and not holographic? because that's a shitload of metal to find and sculpt in the few hours between finding the Admiral and feeding her tot he Queen.

I recognized it at the time too.

Despite being ridiculous, I justify it by saying that it's basically a spot-replicated ablative armor, and that as long as you have the raw materials and the power you can infinitely replenish it. (I imagine Voyager had a power problem.)

You should have been on the board during Endgame :D I think we had about 30 people post that at the same time.

Really? Wow. That was about a year before my time here, even before I was Praetor Neral. Sorry I missed it. :p
