Here is an article in Newsweek, Shatner talks about the new movie and stuff.

What's the latest on the upcoming "Star Trek" movie remake that J.J. Abrams is doing? Have you been hearing from him at all?
I know nothing. I had a meeting a couple times with J.J. Abrams, who actually came down one time to where we shoot "Boston Legal" to visit with me—and I don't know what it was about. He never called back, and I'm not in the movie. I'm disappointed.
Were you offended?
I would have liked to have been in the revival of "Star Trek." More than that I'm fascinated by the business decision of not including that popular character and the actor who has a lot of popularity still, as opposed to anybody else in the cast who's either unknown or not in the public eye particularly.
Why do you think you were left out?
They, in all likelihood, couldn't solve the storytelling problem and decided to ignore it.

How much nothing do you know about it? Can you think of two other words that mean the same thing as "disappointed"?

And they'll keep asking, because...

Well, because despite a couple of EMMYs and the continual assertion that Shatner has moved beyond and is much bigger than Trek there are only a few things that anyone wants to talk to him about.

They ask about getting all this recognition late in his career.
They talk about whatever book he's plugging.
They may ask about the singing - uh, recording.
And then - they ask about "Star Trek" because it is, in fact, bigger than Shatner and gives them something to headline their article with that people will actually pay attention to.

The thing is, asking Shatner about "Star Trek" is like asking Paris Hilton about prison reform. They've both been there, but that doesn't mean they came away with anything revelatory.

Shatner is just fine, he's funny, he's popular, babies scream for more - but gods I don't care what his opinion of anything is, much less what he thinks about "Star Trek." Just get on stage and make us laugh, Bill, then go home and count the money quietly.

The aged NCC-1701-A will limp into orbit above Veridian III, ambassador Spock will beam down to kirks grave, slowly he lifts his robes and starts to urinate on kirks grave.....and because Spock's bowls are still in flux due to the Genesis effect Spock's urine starts to bring kirk back too life......suddenly kirks breaks through the rocks and Spock startled, stands back and looks on as his old captain climbs from his make shift rock grave......

Kirk" Spock...you came back for me...but how did you know that your urine was still in flux from the genesis effect and it would bring me back".

Spock" I had no idea that would happen".

Kirk"!!!!!!!!!".

Spock"Sooooooooooo......what you been doing".

After that Kirk and Spock travel the galaxy in the Enterprise, allowing starfleet to believe that Cap kirk is dead, and they must let the universe believe that his IS dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him...

People keep asking because they hope The Shat slips and says something juicy. My guess although not an original idea is that The Shat wanted too much money and was unwilling to train losing weight. To bad I really like The Shat.
