Welcome to the all new SF&F Avatar Contest! :)

This weeks theme is Cryptids or I Seen It!

Avatars should feature media depictions of creatures studied by the pseudoscience Cryptozoology.

e.g. Bigfoot, Mothman, Chupacabra etc...

Wikipedia list of cryptids --> link

Scientific consensus is that allegations of the existence of cryptids are not credible.

Well what are you waiting for? Enter now!

Standard Avatar Contest Rules:

--------------------------------

Max image size 200x200px.

Max file size 1mb.

You may enter as often as you wish.

Frank Frazetta's Mothman
Originally used as the cover for John A. Keel's The Mothman Prophecies, the painting has been used by and inspired a lot of other media, such as a short story in the horror comic mag The Creeps (also using the painting as the cover for the issue) and an official comic version from Opus' Frazettaverse.

Loch Ness Monster ("Nessie"), The Simpsons

So based on the somewhat limited selection of cryptids, is it acceptable to enter an image of an already entered creature, but from a different production?

If so, this is my #2

Yeti (The Abominable Adorable Snowman), Monsters Inc.

And if not, I will try to think of something else! :)

Couple of snowman entries:

Half Human
By Godzilla director Ishiro Honda, the original Japanese cut of the movie is considered lost media.

Yeti: Giant of the 20th Century
Italian production turning the rather brownish titular creature into a kaiju. Was supposed to be a family-friendly adventure film, but then there was this weird moment.

Last call for entries!

There will very probably be a poll posted in 24 hours...

So I thought some others might have posted some other entries. But since no one's entered these, I guess I will.

Kraken, Clash of the Titans

Megalodon, MEG 2: The Trench
(No, I haven't actually seen this, but I saw this gif advertising the movie, so might as well use it! ;) )

i-seen-it-av5.gif

Bumble (Abominable Snow Monster), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

And this one probably doesn't count, but I put it here just for fun...

The elusive North American House Hippo! :D :adore:
