-A pretty Lenore Karidian guested in Conscience of the King. We got Anton Karidian, mass murderer extraordinaire. And ugly.

See a pattern here? Middle-aged homely men vs. young pretty women.

-Tonia Barrows compared to Finnegan. Well, at least he wasn't middle-aged, but not exactly a heartthrob.

-Ariel Shaw vs. another older man.
-Mea 3, vs. Anan 7 (or, *ugh!* Ambassador Fox)
-Leila vs. Elias Sandoval

and finally, Edith Keeler vs. the drunken bum.

Women got robbed. Female guest stars were usually young and pretty. We got no eye candy other than Spock and he was a regular.

Compare the counterparts for the two men listed:

- Gary Mitchell. Elizabeth Dehner. (Same age. A tie, I guess.)
- Khan. Marla McGivers. Khan middle-aged, Marla still young.

My absolute top first-season Trek TOS babe is Sally Kellerman as Dr. Elizabeth Dehner.

Runners-up:

Sherry Jackson as Andrea (although any reasonably attractive actress would have looked hot in that costume).

Barbara Babcock as Mea 7 -- an elegant lady with a subtle, understated sexuality.

Susan Oliver as Vina -- the kind of girl men want to marry. In real life, you know, she was an accomplished airplane pilot. I would have flown with her anywhere.

The ones that DON'T do it for me:

Barbara Anderson as Lenore Karidian -- very pretty, not particularly sexy.

Jill Ireland as Leila -- see above.

Madlyn Rhue as Lt. Marla McGivers -- Such a simpy little thing.

Susan Denberg as Magda -- Gorgeous until she opened her mouth.

Of the women, I'd definitely say Helen Noel. Neither of the men do anything for me. Gary Mitchell is a non-entity, I quite honestly don't remember anything about him (although it's possible I missed that episode if it's really early on. Khan is too overbearingly macho to do anything for me. I avoid men like him like the plague.

The only TOS guest star who turns me on is Captain Pike. If you count The Cage, he should be in the first season...
