There's not enough brain bleach in the universe to remedy the horror of imagining Putin having sex.
I think I was 14 when I checked out a book from the school library that all the other kids were talking about because of the graphic sex scenes (which were only a small part of the book.) The PTA banned Siddhartha and were trying desperately to ban Catcher in the Rye, 1984, and To Kill a Mockingbird. But they totally ignored this book and all the kids got around to reading it. Can't remember the name of the book.
It was profoundly uninteresting. I found that for me, porn and spectator sports are similar - in that if I'm not a participant, I tend to get bored. Not knocking either, and totally okay that other people enjoy one or the other.
I'm of the same mind for the most part. And it's largely because authors seem to have no idea how to pace it. The scene basically comes to a halt for the sexual details and then it picks back up as if nothing happened. It's a pacing struggle and if I want sex scenes, well I'm not going to be reading science fiction.
In terms of more...adult....fan fiction, I find there are two categories. One is LGBT people having to create their own love scenes since we are underrepresented in that field. These tend to be more touching, and in character. Less focus on the physical element, and more on the relationship. The other category is a writer treating characters like a six year old making their dolls kiss. Unfortunately, the latter "sells" the most.
