Seven of Nine: Deeper than the Catsuit!

Ryan did an excellent job in the role. She managed, despite the catsuit, to convey the intelligence and vulnerability of what could have been a mere eye candy role. Sometimes the writers contributed to this complexity. Other times they fought it.

What about when q vanished her catsuit?

How did that change things?

To me, brief as it was, she seemed to be no more sexy or interesting naked than she was catsuited.

Clothes do not make the woman.

The drone was a female version of Data rehashing the same storylines. Nothing more nothing less then eye candy.

Spiner was so the eye candy. All the fangirls salivating on the other side of the TV so imagined they were woman enough to make him feel that sort of emotion.

^Wasn't it Riker who was the eye candy for the female demographic on TNG, esp. when he grew the beard? -- RR

Seven has never been my favourite character, but I've never thought she was simply eye candy. I enjoy some of the Seven-centric episodes very much, and thought Jeri Ryan did a wonderful job playing her.

That said, I thought it was a shame she had to wear the catsuit for all three seasons she was on Voyager, because it really didn't help the T&A label that some people wanted to pin on her. At first, while it was regenerating her skin (or whatever the heck it was supposed to be doing), fair enough, but I think after a while, if they had wanted to explore her humanity as they had claimed, it might have been nice if they had given her a uniform (or at least civilian clothes). I understand the need for her to stay in the cargo bay to regenerate, but she looked lovely in the sciences uniform in Relativity. Many of the ladies in Trek prove that it's possible to have immense sex appeal and wear the jumpsuit. ;)

As Guy points out above, clothes do not make the woman, it's true - but still, I would have liked to see her become a true crewmember, and get a uniform/clothes of her own (aside from the couple of minidresses and sports outfit she got to wear).

Or you could just put it all down to the fact that the Doctor is a perv. ;)

I trully believe the writers had alot to go on here. Jean Luc was only a Borg for a few days. and only took months to get over it. She may take an entire lifetime to get over the horrors of the Collective. But mostly, I believe she should get a boyfriend or husband and become a mommy. That would either cure or kill her
