Setting Up a Go Daddy domain?

Okay, here's the set up: Hosting on one server, Domain through Go daddy. Client wants to keep their hoster, but didn't want to pay the price for the domain so they got a cheapy from Go Daddy.

Now, here's how I set up:

Forwarding: On (set to the hosting URL)

Changed the nameservers to the ones used by the hosting service.

So, folks that have used Go Daddy, did I miss anything?

I don't think so. I've had to use GoDaddy a few times because one of the sites I maintain is registered there. As long as the nameservers area points to the proper servers specified by the host, you should be good to go.

All my domains are though godaddy.

If you have a host other than goddadys host, then you just need to set your dns servers for that domain to the dns servers your host gives you. you do not set up forwarding unless the domain is parked and you just want it to forward to another domain name.

For instance my Galacticabbs.com domain has the dns server pointed to:

NS1251.HOSTGATOR.COM
NS1252.HOSTGATOR.COM

(since I use Hostgator as my host), I do NOT have forwarding setup since i'm hosting my site remotely (not on godaddy). Keep in mind once you change your dns server it can take up to 24 hours to take effect for everyone since it has to be propagated though out internet.

Well it's up and going. Bit of a issue with the Client's hoster, seeing as they wanted to be a bit of a bitch about not buying the domain through them. But it's all hammered out. Have to say Go Daddy's tech support is pretty alright for the most part.

yeah, there great. They call every few months to see if i need anything, good group.
