News Set of Scoring from the Series Due Soon

Today La La Land Records announced (under the radar, not fully publically yet) a set of scoring from the show. I am in no way affiliated with them.

Some of you no doubt recall the label, as we've had threads in the passed few years from other Trek score sets they've done, and Trek film scores they've done.

All we have right now if a flier with the cover art (from their Facebook and Twitter and the release date):

An update on it and other Trek scores:

We'll be sending over the track listing to post on one of the Trek Websites soon.

In the meantime, our plan over the next 18 months for Trek is as follows:

DS9 Volume 2 - 3rd qtr 2017

Voyager Volume 2 - 1st qtr 2018

Unknown Trek Collection featuring:

Disc 1 - TNG - leftovers
Disc 2 - DS9 - leftovers
Disc 3 - Voyager - leftovers
Disc 4 - Enterprise - leftovers

Probably by Summer 2018 we will be saying our final goodbye to Trek. I think roughly after 9 cds from each series we will have covered just about all the amazing music from this incredible Universe...unless we decide to do something crazy like Season by Season Box sets! lol

Sad to hear. Two volumes of Voyager and D.S.9. won't cover all the goodness. This means going back to the days of pining for episode scores. :-([/b]

I hope that "Scopion: Part I" closing cue is on there. I can't quite tell by the tracklisting.

The tracklisting:

I hope that "Scopion: Part I" closing cue is on there. I can't quite tell by the tracklisting.

It is, in "Mr Toad's Wild Ride." The only significant cue that appears to be missing from this set is when Species 8472 attacks the Borg cube in Part II.

I saw the price. No Frickin way. I will just enjoy the tunes when I watch the episodes. In fact I have one playing in my head now simply reading the Playlist.

There's nothing wrong with the price. If you can't personally afford it, that's another thing. Myself, I'm unemployed, so I can't have it.

I'm trying to import it into Itunes and they don't know the track listing. That's a bummer.

Dark Frontier is a FANTASTIC score! I am listening to this gem now. Good lord, this is a blisteringly fun ride. I forgot how good the music was on this series at time. David Bell is great at balls to the wall action. This is a movie score.

Tharp, I am willing to accept that, my opinion is part lack and part value. I would pay 40 tops for this nostalgia as I am spoiled by competitive pricing.

Competitive pricing has nothing to do with the price point of a limited edition set of television scoring. A limited edition of anything costs a lot to put together, but with TV scores, it's even more expensive, and each cue adds to the cost.

I could cite quote after quote from the score labels, but at this point I don't think it's needed.

Every person who doesn't buy a set makes Baby Janeway cry. Or Old-Lady Fingers Janeway cough.

Considering a single soundtrack CD from a score label costs about $20, a four CD set for $60, is a good price. It's like paying $20 each for three of them, and getting the fourth CD free. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the price of the CD set. We're not talking about a $12 "best of van Halen" set that you can get a any Wal-Mart.
