Hooray! Can't wait to get my hands on this one. There was some fantastic stuff this season. I'm also very glad they're not waiting until the specials to put out another soundtrack; I was worried that they'd want to wrap up the RTD era with one soundtrack, in case Moffatt doesn't use Murray Gold.

Thanks for the info. One to add to the Christmas list.

I really do hope that Murray Gold will carry on writing the music for the next series.

I really hope they keep Gold until he's lying on his deathbed. And even then I hope they get him to scratch out one more character leitmoff. The man is amazing, and his work really forms the emotional heart of the show.

Can't wait for this. I've collected all of the soundtrack CD releases so far. Some good stuff in series 4. :)

Been waiting for this since the end of the series as some of you are well aware from my many posts! Can't wait to listen to it! Season Four had some great new music despite a number of rehashes from previous series.

To be fair, those really weren't "rehashes." Gold's music makes extensive use of recurring leitmotifs to represent recurring themes, characters, ideas, and emotions. As such, it's perfectly appropriate for him to reuse music from season to season.

I read the news of this while sitting here listening to the "Madame de Pompadour" music from Season 2. November 17 cannot come soon enough for this old-school Whovian! (Now if only Tennant would commit to season 5 already!)

Over at Outpost Gallifrey, there's been speculation that the soundtrack might be available for purchase as a download in advance of the actual CD coming out. I don't know if this has actually been confirmed yet, though.

Maybe they'll screw up like they did with Torchwood and have it available for download on the U.S. iTunes store a week before it comes out in the U.K.

I've been listening to the first two Doctor Who soundtracks a lot recently, so I'm really looking forward to this one.
