OK, it'll be pretty obvious what inspired this and I think it'll work...
...the theme for September is Take Me To Your Leader!!!
The subject is the top levels of Trek government and leadership, from the Federation President to the Ferengi Grand Nagus or whatever else your twisted minds can come up with. I'm not going to limit it other than that, as I'm a firm believer in as open a topic as possible.
...here's a few ideas I had for possible entries:
--Campaign posters or ads for elections [or perhaps pronouncements by non-elected leaders]...
--Computer ballot interfaces listing various serious or not-so-serious candidate for an office...
--For the shipwrights among us, how about leaders' private craft? I know we had a "Federation One" thread a while back, that or another race would be fertile ground I'd think...
--Perhaps a news story about an election, something an investigative Jake Sisko type reporter might come up with, or perhaps a 24th-century puff piece or slab of yellow journalism...
--Candidates' personal websites...
That's a few, and for the record I have no idea what I'll do yet... I think this has both serious and non-serious potential, which I also really like to try for.
I'll also allow crossovers with other shows or movies as long as you tie it into Trek somehow...
..plus this will allow our esteemed mod to make many election-related Tom Lehrer-scale puns in his voting thread, which I know will make him happy!
