Seinfeld: Still funny

Most over rated so called comedy ever.
this show ranks down there with nails on a chalk board for annoyance.

Definitely the best sitcom of all time. I love Seinfeld. There's just nothing like it.

It's a show that I find funnier as I get older; mostly because I realize, no, they weren't making any of this up. People, horrifyingly, can really be like this.

"The sea was angry that day, my friend; like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli..."

I think the funniest thing a TV show has ever done is Kramer telling the story about the severed toe. "So now I'M driving the bus!"

"You're like a Batman!"
"I AM like Batman! So the mugger -he comes to and starts choking me, so I start fighting him and then I kick him out -you know- at the next stop."
"You kept making all of the stops?!"
"Well, they kept ringing the bell!"

Yeah, George ruled. It's a shame Jason Alexander never won an Emmy while his co-stars Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Michael Richards did. I thought it took a lot more skill to play such a pathologically neurotic, obsessive character and his scenes were the highlight of many an episode...especially when he'd get mad or go on some rant. I love his "Independent George" speech and when he desperately needed to talk to Jerry and Kramer was using the phone. KRAAAAAY-MAAAH!!!!!!!

Totally agree. He should have won an Emmy for his work in the show.

Yeah, I also agree. Acting-wise Jason Alexander was clearly the strongest of the cast. And I don't think that was ever acknowledged the way it should.

It's very much like the Honeymooners. It is timeless in it's humor. Will be just as funny 25 years from now as it is today and was 10+ years ago.

Ehhh, maybe. It's unlikely many people 25 years from now will get, say, the OJ trial references I outlined in the OP and certainly the look and style of the series is looking very dated and "90s" today.

But, overall, I mostly agree with you because other than, yes, the occasianl mid/late-90s pop cultural reference the series is fairly timeless.
