Seekers/Vanguard question

I have a Seekers/Vanguard question. I have the first two Seekers books that I checked out from the library. My question is do I need to read the Vanguard series before starting the Seekers books? I have never read them and I'm really am not where I can purchase them plus my local library only has two of the Vanguard books, Precipice and Storming Heaven. Thanks for any help.

You don't need to read them, no. Seekers does star characters who were introduced in Vanguard, and it mentions events that took place during that series, but otherwise it does its own thing. If you don't want to or are not able to read through the Vanguard series first, you should be okay. Be warned, though, that you will be spoiled about a great deal of what went down in Vanguard, but if you don't mind that, then have at it. :techman:

Vanguard is a fantastic series .I just finished reading the books .I really enjoyed reading this series . There's several mentions of events that happen from the Vanguguard series and it continues in the Seekers books.

SO, from "reading between the lines" I understand that though Vanguard is not required it is probably a good idea.

Probably best to buy e-versions since they are cheaper than second-hand hardcopies!

I second/third/whatever *g* the recommendation that you read the Vanguard-series. I just finished it myself, and, though the later books are IMO a bit weaker, especially the setup/first half of the series is simply amazing.

Be aware though, that especially the 3rd book, Reap the Whirlwind, is hard to come by. At f.e. amazon.de the ebook-version is at 15.5 Euro, the paperback-edition (new) at 23 Euro (similar prices at amazon.com), so you might want to look at used books stores/libraries!
